What is your role at Vovia?
I’m a Digital Media Specialist at Vovia. I help our clients with their marketing needs, from strategies, implementation and optimization. My main goal is to always maximize the performance of their campaigns – be it in sales, lead generation, brand awareness, or any other KPI.
What do you do in your spare time?
I usually spend it with my wife and baby. We either stay at home, binge-watch movies/series (When life gives you tangerines, oh my goodness the emotions there), and enjoy a nice pint of Village Ice Cream, or we explore the city and nearby towns to walk and find restaurants/pubs/bars to eat at.
I’m also a sports fanatic and enjoy watching them (i’m not good at playing them though ). Some of my go-tos are the NBA, NHL, F1, and a weird one – darts.
Tell us something about yourself that would surprise people.
I am a compulsive overthinker. I grew up being extremely afraid of the rain because I read the story of the great flood in the bible and always thought that the great flood would come every time it rained. It took me 5 years to get rid of the fear. I was also afraid to eat hot dogs because when I was young, my cousins told me that they were made from cut-off human parts (if you know, you know). To this day, I still don’t eat them because of my constant overthinking and probably because my taste buds prevent me now.
While I know overthinking is not always good for me, I sometimes feel that it works to my advantage. I feel I’m quite calculated in everything that I do because of it. It helps with work because I try to be as thorough as possibl,e and at the same time, prepare for possible fires and adjustments. It also helps me be better organized with stuff and maintain order.
What do you love/what are you most passionate about?
It’s hard thinking about what hobby/thing I’m most passionate about. I feel like I’ve just been trying to survive throughout my life, hustling and bustling to be able to have a decent life. But I do know that I love, more than anything in the world, my family. I do everything for them, and I strive to give them a comfortable life and one that they’ll enjoy. As a new father, I feel like that’s my main motivation right now.
What is the best part about working at Vovia?
The culture. A lot of companies typically default to claiming that they have a “great company culture,” but we all know that most of these companies are just spewing nonsense. Vovia, as I’ve come to quickly understand being a newbie, strives to ensure its culture is one that employees get behind and appreciate.
I’ve worked for a lot of marketing agencies and start-ups, and always expected that the turnover rate was always going to be high. So imagine my surprise when I found out that most of the employees at Vovia have been here for 3+ years, some even being here for 10+ years. If that doesn’t tell you how great the culture at Vovia is, I don’t know what else will.
