What is your role at Vovia?
I’m a Marketing Intelligence Specialist—which often sounds more mysterious than it is! In simple terms, I’m a data analyst who works closely with our marketing teams to make sure the data tells the right story. Most of the time, you’ll find me tracking websites to ensure accurate data collection, making sure everything in the ETL pipeline runs smoothly, and that data is extracted, stored, and transformed in the right way. I also build automation scripts using Python to streamline these processes, and I’m always on the lookout for the latest tech to improve our operations. On top of that, I craft dashboards to help our clients make sense of their data—and hopefully make their lives a little easier.
What do you do in your spare time?
Outside of Vovia, you’ll usually find me either hitting the gym for an intense workout or chilling at home watching anime. I’m a huge manga fan—I’ve read over 100 manga series in the past five years (definitely more than the number of certifications I’ve done!). I also love being in nature. Whether I’m brisk walking along the Bow River or hiking through the breathtaking trails of the Canadian Rockies, being outdoors recharges me like nothing else.
Tell us something about yourself that would surprise people.
Most people are surprised by my educational journey. I actually started out in space technology during high school because I wanted to try something completely different. Then I pivoted to computers and electrical engineering—since that was the hot topic at the time. I worked as a software engineer for a while before discovering my passion for data science. That discovery is what ultimately led me to Vovia.

What do you love/what are you most passionate about?
I’m incredibly passionate about data science and virtual reality—two fields that fascinate me not just individually, but in the way they’re starting to merge. Data science helps us make sense of the world through numbers, while VR gives us a whole new way to experience and interact with that information. I find myself constantly imagining how the two can come together—picture a world where business insights aren’t just in spreadsheets, but visualized in immersive 3D environments where you can walk through your data. That’s the kind of future I get excited about.
I’m also driven by the constant evolution in tech. There’s always something new to learn or explore, and I love diving deep into the latest tools, frameworks, or trends that can improve how we handle and experience data. The idea of blending creativity with logic through tech is what fuels me, and I feel lucky to work in a space where that’s not just possible—it’s encouraged.
What is the best part about working at Vovia?
There’s honestly so much I love about being here, but if I had to sum it up—it’s the growth. When I joined Vovia, I came from a background of working with just one client at a large tech company. It was structured, but also limiting. At Vovia, I’ve had the chance to work with multiple clients across a range of industries, and that diversity of experience has been a game-changer for me.
The fast-paced environment keeps me on my toes, but it’s balanced by an incredibly supportive and collaborative team. Everyone here is sharp, passionate, and always willing to share knowledge. It’s a place where you’re encouraged to experiment, learn, and fail forward. I’ve learned more in my time here than I could have imagined—about data, marketing, communication, and myself.
